Finally have my laptop. Still in the hospital, still pregnant. I have
been diagnosed with mild preeclamsia. I may get to go home this
weekend. Finally got BP and contractions under control. The
contractions started to shorten my cervix, but my MFM is still okay
with it and I am not dilated. I am off the Mag sulfate (OMG that stuff
is hell) and back on my terb pump. I got both steriod shots and had a
consult with a NIC-U Dr. who was very encouraging and said that 32
weekers tend to do very well and go home a few weeks before their due
date. He also said that twin preemies tend to do better than
singletons for some reason. The goal right now is to make it to 34
weeks as long as my BP stays under control and my labs continue to show
that the pre-e is not effecting my organs and the babies continue to do
well. Thanks for all the T&P. I know its helping. The wifi here
is kinda spotty so I will try to update when I can.

Re: XP: Update on me
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
So glad everything is under control and that you got the steroid shots!
I am relieved to hear the neonatologist say that twins do better- I had never heard of that but I like it! I know when we had our 24 week scare, our neonatologist said 28 weeks is huge and 32 is really good, so you're in a good place!
Did they tell you want your cervix is at now? Will they bother doing an ffn?
Thinking of you!
Good luck. I'm glad they were able to stop your contractions. I'll be praying for you.
I delivered at 32 weeks, 2 days due to pre-e. My daughters spent 21 days and my son stayed 28 days in the NICU. They were very healthy and were considered 'feeders and growers'. They were all home a few weeks before their due date. I had 2 rounds of steroid shots (one at 23 weeks for PTL and one at 32 weeks even because of the pre-e).
Thanks for the update! I'm so glad to hear that things are stabilizing and you're getting positive feedback from the drs. I have a few friends that delivered their twins between 31-33 wks. All 6 of the babies are perfect. One wears glasses but that's it!
As for early twins doing better, I know it's in the Dr Luke book but I think I've read it other places, too. If I recall correctly, the fact that twins develop so quickly in the earlier parts of your pg then slow really helps. I think the stat was that a 30w twin is more developmentally more advanced than a 30w singleton who would have continued to grow/develop in utero until birth.
