I just had this very discussion with my best friend last night. She's returning to work next week and was telling me that the last thing she needed to do was go get a new manual pump. Her take is that a manual pump is actually much easier to throw in a bag when you're on the go then the electric pumps.
You may find that in certain situations, setting up shop to use your electric pump logistically can't happen. A manual one is small, cheap and can be thrown in a tote bag. The name of the BFing game is finding ways to make nursing as convenient as possible so you can do it for as long as you can. Can't hurt to try it out...

I have the same as you and I was thinking this too. Only reason I could think of was being away from DS longer than expected and starting to get uncomfortable. But I'm still not sure it is worth it.

i thought the same thing...the electric pump may not be convenient for every situation and being able to throw the manual in my bag seems like a good idea...they are not terribly expensive so it's worth a try..thanks a bunch!!
I also heard some hospitals will send you home with one..I may call the hospital and see if they do.

i am going to give it a try..they are not too expensive so it's worth just having on hand just in case..
i had the medela but also had a medela hand pump as well.. i used the hand pump a few times when i had to go out kinda late for a work event or out in the city (used at a ranger game.. lol). comes in handy!
