Hi all, I am an occasional lurker here on this board and have been TTC for the past few months. My cycles are all wonky though and I want to get in to see someone to figure out whats going on as well as establish a relationship for when I do get pregnant. My previous dr only practices gyn, no ob so I am looking for someone new. I live in Southwest Austin. I have heard some good things and a few not so good things about Hill Country OBGYN. I am also curious about any other groups or drs in the south area and would like to know if anyone has any experience delivering at South Austin Hospital.
TIA
Re: South OB recs
Another rec for Hill Country. I have seen Dr. H and Dr. L.
Dr. H was my OB, however she went to maternity leave and I saw Dr. L for some of my appointments. Dr. L ended up delivering DD. I will be switching to her now b/c I like her a little bit better. Dr. H is very good also though, in fact, the nurse at my PCP's office said that she knows Dr. H and that is who she would want in the room with her if there was an emergency.
Dr. Cherry was my OB/GYN for the past 6 years...then we stupidly moved to Pflugerville and got pregnant...I'd still be using her as my OB if it didn't take me 45 minutes to get there. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Cherry. She's honest, quick to the point and has great bed side manner.
Exactly this! Dr. L delivered both my girls. She is easy to talk to and very open to your opinions.
I don't know much about South Austin Hospital, but I LOVE Seton Southwest! Huge rooms, lots and lots of one on one attention because it is so small, and great nursing staff.
Good luck!! : )

I see Dr Lockey at ARC South and freaking LOVE her. She was my OB for DS when she was at Seton NW, and she delivered him. She is amazing. A few months after DS was born, she basically saved me when I was thisclose to having cervical cancer - she caught it just in time and removed all the dysplasia and i've had no problems since then. She moved to Austin Regional Clinic South, and I've continued to see her because I love her that much (I live in Georgetown, mind you, so that's quite a hike!). The only thing that makes me sad about getting pregnant again is having to find a new OB, because she's just too far away to travel to for pregnancy.
Last week I had another appt for a pap, but had to see the PA (Cheryl Johnston) because Dr. Lockey is in Haiti helping out right now - that's how cool and awesome she is! Anyway, Cheryl was fantastic also and I loved her. I think Dr. Lockey will be back in another week or two. I did not deliver at S. Austin Hospital, but my BFF did and she didn't have any issues with it that I know of.
