how to clean the humidifier?
We have a Vicks cold mist humidifier. It worked amazingly well the first couple of weeks we had it, but lately it will mist for a little bit, and then nothing except the fan noise. I have cleaned it with vinegar, wiped down the base and changed the filter as it said in the instructions, but still no avail. I'm tempted to call the company and inquire about any warranty, but wanted to ask you ladies in case I may have missed something obvious. TIA!

we have a humidifier, not Vicks, don't know the brand, in our room and it just stopped working, it'd make this horrible noise and the fan would run but no water would come out. DH did what you did but nothing helped. We have not called the manufacturer but the thing is just a few months old!

If it's the same one we had, I think there's a part that can go in the dishwasher, but definitely check the manual before doing that.
That said, we had one and hated it. We got this one from Target (and another from Amazon) and like it much more. And we don't have to deal with wicking, which is nice.
