37 weeks - 100% Effaced & 2 cm Dilated

The doctor says it could happen any day now. Have you heard of anyone who had similar progress and if so, how long did it take to deliver?

Yah it could happen any day or you could go to 41 weeks like that dilation/effacement honestly doesn't mean much. I have zero dilation/effacement and could go into labor tomorrow. I don't understand why doctors get peoples hopes up like that.

Ultimately, hearing that you are dilated and effaced shows that you are progressing. And you are! It feels good to know the pain you've been feeling is doing something. BUT, you could go today or two weeks from today... Someone could be dilated/effaced at 0 and give birth tonight. Every woman's body is different during labor. You probably already know that thought

Last week when I found out I was dilated/effaced/membranes stripped and lost my plug I was so excited - searching the bump for stories of women who gave birth soon after being in similar situations. And there were a few, but it wasn't meant to be for me. I went in yesterday and I was dilated/effaced more 2cm 90% and she stripped my membranes again. Not so anxious this week.

The bottom line is we are going to have and hold our babies soon.

I was 2 cm and like 50% effaced at 37 weeks with my son and was induced at 40 1/2 weeks.  They told me the same thing every time - could be any day, could be 2-3 weeks.  You never know!

Me!!!  That is just about what I was with my second child.  You aren't going to like my answer though.  At 38 week appointment I was still pg and 3cm and at 39 week appointment I was still pg and 4cm.  My daughter was born 8 days later....on her due date after my water broke in the middle of the night.  So I walked around at 2+ cm for 3 weeks and at 4cm for 8 days.  At every apppointment I had they told me there was no way I would make it to my due date.

I was the same with my son and had him 2 days later! It was quick too since I was already dialated. You have a head start which is great!

I wanted to add that I was exactly 37 weeks also when I had him.

I've been at a 5 for a week! My induction is scheduled for Monday... OBs should be revoked of the privelege of saying the phrase " any day now" becuase it doesn't mean crap!!!
