I had an emergency c-section at 37.5 weeks due to HELLP syndrome and proteinuria starting at 29 weeks.
I met with the High Risk Dr today and he said there is no reason for me not to get pregnant again! Not that I'm ready right now, but I was worried he would say it wasn't a good idea to risk another pregnancy. He said the chance is 1-2% that it would happen again and it would likely happen later.
Actually, he said I make such beautiful babies I should make more. lol!
Re: AW- Good News today re: HELLP
Very happy you heard good news from your doctor! It's sad when women who have experienced HELLP are automatically told they should never have another child again... I mean, there are some who should not depending on their own situation, but the vast majority can try again.
My experience with HELLP the first time didn't have a happy ending, but testing showed blood clotting disorders which can be treated...and I am now nearly four weeks more pregnant than I have ever been! And I am a good 6 weeks past when I first showed symptoms, and so far so good.
Best of luck with future pregnancies!

Thats great news!!! I was told the same after I got pre e/hellp(at 39 weeks) with ds... we are currently ttc #2.. I am a little worried that it will happen again but the chances are slim.. Like pp if it happens again with second pregnancy the ob said no more babies.. which is ok cause we only want 2.
