Postpartum Depression

3pm Dr Appt...chickening out!

I am sitting here trying to justify NOT going to talk to my Dr about feeling anxious and sad.

I am scared to be medicated...scared to NAME the problem...scared to be a failure...scared.

  • Please don't chicken out!   I did the same thing - and felt such relief when I went.  It will be a big relief, I promise!  GO!!!!

  • I felt the same way last week when I went to the doctor, but I promise you, it is okay. It's okay to be scared about everything, but it is also okay to get help and to talk about it. The more you talk about it, the better you will feel. I didn't want to be medicated either, but a week into it and I am already feeling better and in better control of my emotions and feelings. You deserve to feel happy. Go to the doctor and be honest with your doctor and yourself. You will be a better mommy for it!

  • Absolutely talk to your Dr.!!! I really believe opening up about your emotions and not keeping all inside helps just as much as any medication. It isn't going to "cure" anything but it is the first step on the path to feeling better. It is worth it. I promise!
