Did your RE put you on a FABB Tab?

If you don't know what that is, it's an additional folic acid, B6 and B12 supplement.  He has me taking it twice a day on top of my prenatal.

 I'm just wondering if anyone else was on it.  When I asked my RE what it was for, he said that people who take Metformin usually have a B vitamin deficiency.  I guess Metformin, from what he was saying, can strip your B vitamins from your body.

Has anyone else heard of this?

Yup, it's true.  Metformin interfers with the absorption of B vitamin in your body, so it's reccomended that people on long term Met therapy (usually diabetics) take a supplement. The next time you have bloodwork done, or with your next general physical, you can have your B12 + B6 levels checked to see where you are.

I was just given a script today for this (see post directly below yours) and so I was just researching it online.  They mention this as well as bennefits of less acne and losing weight woohoo!  because of it effecting testosterone levels.  But main side effect is diaharea and low vitamin B absorbtion & folic acid so I don't think it's a bad thing that they told you to take extra.
