So I was on 10mg celexa and felt somewhat uncomfortable about BFing and now they upped it to 40mg and although doc says it's fine, even the bottle says not to BF while taking the meds. I just don't know WHO to trust really. This is my baby, my son! I don't want to hurt him at all.
Also, my insurance doesn't cover Deplin and honestly I'm not sure what to think about it.......anyone else taking it and absolutely glad they are?
Re: He upped the dosage and Deplin
I'm on Deplin, but I've never taken the meds without it. Although my insurance does cover it, it's the highest co-pay. I guess what I'm saying, is I don't know how my meds would work without the Deplin. Could you try taking the Celexa without adding the Deplin and see how it works? From what my midwife told me, it is supposed to "supercharge" the meds and get them into your system better. She also has me taking B-complex vitamins twice daily. For me personally, I trust my midwife. If she tells me that something is safe for me take and BF, then I would trust her. But that is me - and I'm no longer BFing because of some meds that I'm taking. If you aren't comfortable taking the celexa, see if there is another med that they can give you. I'm on Zoloft, and I know plently of people who not only BF and take it, but take it while pregnant. IHTH!!! GL
