Anyone move with a toddler?

We are moving in April and I am just wondering if/how I should expect it to affect DS.  He will be 16 months old.  The way we set it up, he will leave from our current home for daycare and go to our new home after being picked up that evening.  Is that going to be confusing for him or am I overthinking this?  We plan to have his room set up, so he will come into a new room in a new house with all of his normal furiture.  He is staying at the same daycare for 3 weeks afte rthe move, so at least that will remain the same.  Has anyone had experience with this?

I think you are overthinking a little and have it set up to run pretty smoothly.  We are currently in the moving process where we had boxes of furniture and stuff crammed into our apartment, then we moved into a hotel with DS in his pack and play for this week, then moving to grandma's house in MI and switching 5 time zones, then visiting great-grandma's house in PA and then moving into another apartment/house, then possible moving into a permanent home in the next 6 months.  I'd say you're doing fine compared to us!

 I think the best thing is to just keep a consistent schedule, make sure there's enough sleep/eat time and you're good.  Change happens, and it's good to know that your child can adapt to it!  GL with your move!

We moved when DS was 21 months old, but not with your exact situation. He went to day care during the day when the movers were there, then came back with us to an empty house. He thought it was great-running around the empty house like crazy.

When we went to the new house (although it was a few days and a hotel and plane trip later), he had fun running around exploring as well. He was at day care again when the movers came and came back thrilled to see all of his toys.

I think he'll be fine!
