Not getting my Period!!

i was on the nuva ring for a few years and stopped using it in November.  This is my 4th full month that I have not had a single spot!!  My huband and I are ready to start trying, but need my period to come back to see where i'm at. 

 Silly question, but any ideas on how to make my period come back!!    Getting annoyed!

I'm going to assume that you have POAS to confirm that you are not pregnant.

If it's been over 60 days since you've had your period, you can contact your doctor to give you provera, which will kick start your period.

Call your doctor.  He/she will likely give you an Rx for Provera.

You should see your doc. 4 months is a long time to go without a period.

It's different for everyone. For some it comes back right away, for others it takes months. Depends on a variety of factors. I know the wait is frusterating, but hang in there!

Are you saying you have gone 4 months without a period (you can't have a "cycle" without a period)?  Time to call your doctor, they can kickstart it for you.  But, if might take up to a year for your body to return to normal after birth control.

So no period for 4 months at all??  I would get an appt with your doc and discuss Provera... I just started my first dose and I am on CD64, its very frustrating when you need your body to go about its normal business and it has a mind of its own!

This exactly! The only problem is getting AF to show up after a long vacation doesn't mean that she'll go back to being normal again. I've had to use Provera twice now to get AF going. Hopefully I'm done with it though!

how can you have a full cycle without a period?  do you mean months?

i don't think that there are old wives tales like "eat spicy food to go into labor" that apply to your period, so sorry, i don't have any advice except to repeat what other posters have said: call your doctor if you don't have a period in 60 days.  good luck.

Thanks everyone.  I meant this is my 4th full month without anything.    Sorry for the confusion, but yes I will make an appt!  I have been hoping my body would have figured it out by now.  Frustrating.

i know what your going through. I actually stopped nuvaring at the end of november, had my normal "pill period" and nothing since. Day 98 for me. My doctor precribed me Provera (day 92-97) so now I'm just waiting for the flood gates to open. I always had normal period before BC and even when i stopped earlier this year for 2 months. Hopefully after this time i will get back on track. So I know how hard it is for you, PM me if you have any ?s. Ill keep you updated. GL
