I think we're going to plan a short vacay to Gatlinburg in the next month or so. either a Wed-Sun or a Fri-Tues.
So....anyone been and have some suggestions? It will be somewhere between April-First of May....very kid friendly, on the cheap we're planning a bigger/better vacay in late September, probably to SC)...we just need to get away to get some family time.
Re: Gatlinburg, anyone?
I've been a few times, but not with kids.
It's kind of like Brown County on a much larger (and tackier!) scale- mostly it's just walking around and looking in little stores/shops. There are also some musuems, various shows (all country-music themed), and Dollywood theme park.
This time of year it can be crazy on the weekends with all the tourists. When we go we normally spend most of our time at the Smokey Mtn. Nat'l park (we camp there.) Can't imagine you're going to want to do much hiking around though with 4 very small kids...
Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Tacky is what I'm going for.
And yes, hiking is out.
We really just want to get some good family time. DH works insane hours, so we just need a few days away all together...but not really anything extravagant.
I saw the aquarium...we'd def. do that. And maybe a dinner show would be fun.
Any recs for cabin rental companies?
