I had my 1st appointment today and it went great!!! Baby is measuring 6w6d and had a fluttering heartbeat of 138. I'm SO relieved. I'm so happy to have reached a milestone that I didn't get in my last pregnancy. I'm starting to get more exicted now that I know there are good odds that this pregnancy will continue to be healthy. I go back in 4 weeks, but will not have another u/s until 18 weeks. Is this normal?
Re: So Relieved! (1st Appt)
Great news! As far as I know, most OBs don't do any more u/s until the "big u/s" unless you elect to do the NT scan.

happy that everything went well...I think that is the norm unless then dr feels you may need to go before then...
Congratulations on the wonderful appointment!
Yay! That's an awesome appointment!!
Unless there is a question about dating OR a history of loss, my OB doesn't even do u/s until 18 weeks.

Congrats Jess! That is great news.
My doctor's office does an appointment b/w 10-11 weeks and tries to hear the hb on the doppler. Then we elected to do the NT scan at 12 weeks. If we hadn't though, I think our next u/s would be the big one too, so I don't think that is odd.

Thanks!
I was so happy to hear you good news, too!
They talked to me about the NT scan. I'm debating whether or not to do it. I'd honestly love the chance to see my LO again before my "big u/s" but it's kind of my own selfish reasoning! I'm very low risk and my Dr. didn't recommend doing it because I told him if I did have an abnormal result I wouldn't want to do an amnio. Hmmm...decisions, decisions!
