Parents on 12-24 are so cute

Someone needs to know how creepy it is for her 14 month old to see her or DH in the bathroom. It never once occurred to me that it might be creepy for them to see me in the bathroom. I'm thoroughly amazed that she's managed to go 14 months without bringing her kid in the bathroom with her.

  • Just wait until the kid is following her all over the house, including the bathroom.  I'm pretty sure there was a 2 year time period where I never went to the bathroom alone.

  • lol. DS is always bothering me in the bathroom.
  • I still see MY mom naked and she's 64

  • uh, yeah...my kids practically bust the door down if I try and go potty by myself.

  • Lucky her.  It's been 3 years since I've been to a bathroom alone.

And now my almost 1 year old refuses to not be held half the time first thing in the AM when she wakes up.  I've perfected the art of peeing while holding a 20lb kid the whole time.

It's that or put her down and have her wake up her sister.

    I'll hold the 20lbs.

  • I would think that if you haven't taken your kid into the bathroom with you by 14 mo you would start. I mean, a perfect parent like that would most likely have their kid toilet trained by 18 mo. They need to see someone on there to know what they need to do, right?

lol, this made me laugh. DITTO.

however, my DH has seen both my parents naked, by accident. sort of.

  • There are people who can pee without someone small on their lap?  I wanna be one of those people.  I seem to always have one of them in arms or by my side, usually both.
  • I remember getting jumped on for going to the bathroom with my child in there--it may not have been on 12-24, it could have been an earlier board like 6-12.  I got a bunch of "that's disgusting", "oh my gosh that's so gross".  I remember thinking, what am I supposed to do when one of my kids can open the door and the other shouldn't be left to roam the house.

I'm not one to say "just you wait" so I kept my "mouth" shut...it is a glorious experience to go to the bathroom with the door shut and be all by myself.

  • I go to the bathroom alone maybe 30% of the time.

I can't believe that she's managed to keep them OUT this long.

  • First time parents always make me roll my eyes and giggle inside.  It'll all change soon enough.

  • umm yeeeaaahhhh DS is 20 months and the only time  he's not in thebathroom w/ me is if he's sleeping, or DH is home to occupy him so he doesn't come crashing through the door. His new favorite thing is to try to wipe  me... try explaining that one... no honey, mommy has to wipe you, but she can take care of herself!

As a matter of fact the only time I SHOWER alone is when DS is sleeping (last night guess what I was doing at 2AM!)
