Diaper Champ vs Diaper Champ Deluxe?

So my friends have the diaper champ and love it.  It features a weight in the lid that slides down when you dump a dipaer over so that literally, the part with the diapers is never open to the air while the lid is open.  Smells stay trapped. 

We just ordered ours and it came in, ironically it's called the diaper champ deluxe and does not have this feature.  It has a feature where the two lids are only open for a split second together, but still it seems scents could "escape." 

I just found on ebay some of the sellers have new original diaper genies for sale around what we paid.  Anyone have any experience in this department? Several of the reviews said the old one was better.  Would you mess with returning the new one to buy the older version? TIA!

You can find the original diaper champ new in box on Ebay. I did not order the deluxe for that same reason. We had the original version with DD, and loved it, so I wanted the original with this LO as well.
