Checking at the Gate?

I will be flying soon and was wondering if anyone knew if they charge for checking stoller and carseat at the gate?  What do you do about the carseat base?  Do you go without for the week or check it right along with the carseat?  I have the snap n go stroller so the carseat needs to go with me to the gate.  I will be solo at well so I have to be able to get everything there.

Check your stroller and infant seat at the gate (there is no extra charge for this).

We have traveled several times and we do NOT take the base. You just strap the seat in with the seatbelt.

If you really want the base, you will have to probably check that with baggage......

  • We just flew this weekend (just me and Toodle) and there was no charge to check the carseat (at curbside) or stroller (at gate). We didn't bring the carseat base, just strapped it in with the seatbelt. I checked carseat and suitcase at curb, wore him in a ring sling through airport and pushed stroller just in case I needed to put him down. You can push the snap and go and carseat, just as an FYI though you have to collapse stroller through security so may still need something to carry baby in while you do that.

  • When we flew over Christmas I gate checked the carseat, stroller and carseat base (no charge).  One the way there there was an open seat so we used the carseat on the plane and I just put the carseat base in the stroller basket and gate checked it that way.  On the way back there was no open seat so I gate checked the carseat with the base attached and the stroller.
