Anyone have some postive induction stories to share with me? I am going in tonight to start mine and I am having my whig-out moment. I was induced with DD and it went fast 7hrs start to finish but I was already 3 cm dilated and only had pitocin. THis time around as of thurs I am only a fingertip and they area starting me on cervadil. Plus I have PIH...so I am concerned about my BP. I made the misstake of googling last night and saw so many horror stories that I freaked a bit....so I am hoping to find some good ones out here!!!
Re: Positive induction stories......
no personal experience but my friend had a successful induction when her water broke 3 weeks before her due date. I am sending you lots of positive vibes and thoughts for a fast and smooth L&D! I know you've had a rough pregnancy and you did such a great job of keeping your LO in the womb for this long!
good luck, I'll be looking for updates on here and FB!
Good luck with everything!
I was induced for pre-e and it was a positive experience. The cervadil caused my water to break the night before the scheduled induction, and so for awhile they thought I could go natural from there. But, by 4 am it was apparent that my body had other plans, so I was given the pitocin at 5:45 a.m. I asked for an epidural around 8(?) (I was on mag and kind of out of it, so the time may be off) and DS was born at 11:38 a.m.
I don't have anything to compare it to, but I thought the whole thing went pretty smoothly! Again, good luck today!
Good luck! I wasn't dilated at all either, but cervadil alone kick started my labor. They placed it around 11 pm, I had the epidural around 2:30 am, and DD was born at 6 am. I never had pitocin or any other "interventions" besides my strong request (you could probably consider it begging) for an epidural.
Also, I was told that because it was so fast with DD that if I had a second, it was likely to be faster. Maybe that will be true for you if your first came so fast during an induction!
Keep us posted!
Best wishes to you for an easy induction.
I was induced and had the cervadil put in the night before and then started pitocin the next morning. I made it about 6 hrs. on pitocin before needing the epidural and then labored for another 6 hrs. until I was fully dilated (not feeling a thing though!) and then after 3 quick pushes DS was out. It really was a very easy process.
I had cervadil the night before. It only caused minor cramping for a few hours. The potcin was started the next morning around 6:30am. Not much happend - just some cramping. The dr went to go break my water (after epi) and it broke on her way in
I only had break though pain around 8pm - I went from 2cm to 10 in less than an hour
He was born around 11pm. Besides being bored and ready to have the baby around noon - it was pretty easy.
