Hi Ladies!
I have a 20 month old and 3 month old, right now I think its to much for a 15 year old to come on her own, she is the BEST babysitter so with my one I was paying her $5 an hour then i would just round up at the end of the night to make sure she was satisfied!
So, I asked for her little sister to come with her for an extra hand...how should I pay her? I thought I should still pay her the $5 and hour and then I would pay the sister like half that so that she does not have to split her money with the sister?
Or do I pay them both the same because I asked for her to come with ?
She is truly a phenominal babysitter, and I hardly use her, so its worth me paying her good!!
What is the rate for you in your area?
THANKS
Re: Babysitting pay/questions!
First, you are getting a steal! Second, I would pay the little sister maybe 3-5/hour.
We are in Illinois, and the going rate around her is 10-12/ hour for a High school sitter.
$5 seems really really cheap! Minimum wage is $7.25. I would at least pay that. We pay $11 and $12 and hour for our 8 month old on a regular basis. The girls that watch him are in their early 20s though.
I would say if you normally pay $5 an hour then maybe you should pay $8 for two kids? Her sister is probably expecting to make what she is making.
WOW! I can not imagine paying over $10 for a sitter! I will have to go up at least to $8 and then just pay the sister the $5 an hour I think!
THanks for your imput
I pay my own sister $10 an hour. You're getting a bargain.
I'd pay the sister the same rate you're paying your current sitter.
