Looking for a van...

I am currently driving a Hyundai Tuscan.  I love it, but we don't have much room in the back if we have the double stroller with us.  We also don't have room to bring anyone else with us if we go out.  SO, we are looking to buy a van.  I would love to hear (good or bad) your thoughts on specific vans.  Thanks so much!

  • I would definetly go for the Honda Odyssey if you can find one in your price range. They are the roomiest and have some awesome features while being a very reliable and nice minivan. I just bought a 2000 yesterday and had numerous friends recommend this van for lots of reasons. I also do like the Toyota Sienna. I think they are both a good value for what you get. Start test driving some and you'll quickly see differences that will help you choose what's right for your family.

  • We've been researching the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna for awhile, and will hopefully be purchasing our Sienna today. :) It gets great reviews on here, and in the car magazines.
  • We chose the Honda Odyssey over the Sienna because of it's towing capability.  LOVE it!

  • We searched high and low and drove several vans (Town & Country, Grand Caravan, Odyssey were our tops...)  We chose the Odyssey.  In October, I was able to find a 2008 Honda Odyssey from CarMax, and I'm THRILLED with it.  It's loaded.  I had to have it shipped, because there weren't many available. There isn't even one thing that I would change.  I have room for everything.  We have the twins in infant carriers (about to transition to the infant convertible carseats) and our 5 year old in the great big Britax.  I've even added 2 carseats for my cousin and my nephew and still had room for everyone's belongings, me, and 2 more adults (albeit one of them small.)   I can load 2 pack n plays, the double stroller, diaper bags and siutcases all in the back behind the 3rd row.  I love the convenience and the million features.  I loved my last 2 Chevy Tahoes, but I won't go back.  This minivan ROCKS!  The Odyssey maintains resale value better than the others.  There were a *TON* of the used Chrysler T&C's available - which ultimately made me wonder why people were getting rid of them so quickly after purchase.  I've owned 3 Hondas before this one, and they've all been incredibly reliable.  It's got great reviews and crash test ratings.
  • Thanks for all the advice. I am on the hunt!  :-)

We have an Odyssey that we love but I think I would also love a Sienna just as much.  To me, they are pretty similar and it's more important what's available and what kind of mechanic you have around.
