I usually do outdoor toy stuff and art stuff - maybe a few books and dvds too.
I was also thinking of getting Jackson a super hero cape from etsy. He's really into Batman and other superheros right now.
Any other suggestions? He'll probably get some candy this year too (first year for that).
Re: Has anyone started thinking Easter baskets yet?
Yes! Lol! I am so excited because I bought a ton of stuff last year on clearance at Walgreens for pennies.
I just have no idea what to put in the 2,500 plastic bunnies and eggs that I bought to fill.
The fact is, the kid is getting a ton of sugar. I have come to terms with that and will need to embrace it. I refuse to stick an easter basket full of Goldfish or cheese sticks.
We put a lot of change in his eggs that he hunts b/c he LOVES to fill up his piggy bank. It makes me laugh.
Well, stupid me told Gina that the Easter bunny was bringing her a big girl bike. Now I don't know what to get her sister. I should have just bought her a bike, and done small things (like we usually do) for Easter.
Other than that, they will get a little candy (they love jelly beans and starbursts!) little gardening shovels and gloves, bubbles and Crocs.
ooo crocs! Good call - Jackson needs new ones and he loves them.
I like buying stuff I'd be buying anyway and put it in his basket.

I'm starting to... We need to start thinking about it. We're away the week before Easter and then I have a wedding the Saturday before Easter, so I need to get organized soon! All I know is we're getting the Princess and the Frog movie for DD#1 (who loved it at the theater) so we'll have to get a movie for DD#2. No idea on anything else.
ETA - Good call on the crocs! Both the girls have outgrown theirs. And the bubbles. They love those.
Exactly!
We already decorated eggs today. It was a long day, he was excited to do it since we got the kit yesterday, and I figured why not.
We might do more egg decorating in a few weeks since the ones we did today were painted, not dyed. IDK, there's something nice about doing the dyed eggs.
As far as an Easter basket goes, not sure we'll even do one this year.

So far I have a Disney-Pixar car in an egg and Disney Crayola color wonder mini kits from Target. I also just picked up a set of Lightning McQueen shaped treat containers to put a mini twix or jelly beans into. Not sure what else is going into the basket yet.
I just ordered his new basket & liner from PBK (his current one is a cheapie from Lillian Vernon). I'm glad he'll have something that will last a lifetime because of the quality and that I can find a matching/complimentary basket & liner for future kiddos.

They all are getting swim suits, sandals, sunglasses and sunscreen (its tradition). Plus the regular assortment of candy, chalk and bubbles.
Great idea about putting money in the eggs! Tay is learning to count and add up money right now and is REALLY into money...well they all are.
