What carrier for an 11mo old?

I have the Bjorn, but it svcks!  I hate that we ever bought it.  I also have the moby, but it's too much of PIA to wrap.  I'd like some kind of carrier that I can strap on quickly and go and that will be comfortable for my 11mo old.  She's probably around 20lbs and 28-29 inches.

And I don't know if this exists, but is there a carrier that you can switch from front, to side, to back carries?

TIA!

You can do front, back, and hip carries with an ergo or pikkolo, and front or back with a beco.  A mei tai is also a great option and they can do front, back, high back, and hip carries.

Thanks!  Now I have a place to start.  There are so many out there it's overwhelming at first.

    Do you have a favorite?

It's my favorite and I've found it to be a lot more comfortable than a mei tai.

If I need to do a hip carry, I just use my pouch sling.

  • DH and I (and DD) love our Ergo!

  • ERGO!

We got ours around 11 months (switched from the Bjorn) and it's a night and day difference. She's so much lighter in it. And yes, you can do front, side, and back carries in it.

    You won't regret it!

  • We have the Ergo and love it.  DD is 13 months old right now and is very comfortable in it.
