psa: my reflux experience

I just wanted to let you ladies know my reflux story in case some of you out there are having/will have similar experiences. 

My lo was diagnosed for reflux and put on a boatload of meds (prevacid, zantac, bethanecol).  We went from ng tube to nj tube.  My guy has been vomiting 6-7 times a day despite since December.  Frustrated, we got a second GI opinion last Tuesday.  She suggested an allergy.  This had been discussed briefly before, but quickly dismissed bc my guy didn't have bloody stools (he subsequently had bloody stools but the allergy theory was not revisited.) 

 We were switched from Neosure to Ellecare(super hypoallergenic) and my baby (who has never taken even an ounce at a time orally since leaving the nicu) is now eating 30+ ounces a day!!!!  We had to stop the continuous feeds.

moral of the story:  if reflux meds aren't helping your baby-consider asking GI about allergies/sensitivity/intolerance.

Wow, great news! I may consider talking to a GI specialist too cause LO doesn't take more than 1 ounce at a time either.
