Hi Everyone
Has anyone delivered here? if so what was your experience like? I have had 2 L&D trips already but I was just curious to see how everyone's experiences were. Also what freebies to you get? do I need to turn in those coupon printouts that strongmoms and infamil give you or do they just give you the stuff?
can you tell I'm new to this?
Re: Las Colinas Medical Center -
I delivered there and had a wonderful experience. I loved all the nurses, although I didn't think much of the lactation consultant that I saw after delivery. A few weeks later though, I went to the lc office and the rest of the team seemed great so maybe I got a dud.
We 'rented' the suite post partum which was fabulous if you have a lot of family. If not, the rest of the rooms were private and nice as well.
I remember getting enfamil samples, but not sure what else. Go ahead and bring the printouts but you probably don't need them, just make sure to ask for for extras.
I delivered there and also had a great experience. The nurses and lactation consultants were all great (as was the food!). I do wish I would have been able to get up and move about more before I had my epi (I was hooked up to all kinds of monitors and had to stay in the bed), but it wasn't a huge deal. We stayed in a regular room and it was great. The suite looked awesome, but the extra cost didn't seem worth it to us (but we didn't have a lot of visitors, either).
As for "freebies," they'll probably just give you a plain diaper bag with samples in it that the formula manufacturers send them. I'm pretty sure mine was an over the shoulder black backpack thing with Nestle Goodstart formula, nursing pads, a pacifier, brochures, stuff like that. Nothing really awesome or that I really used, but it was free.
If you signed up with Strongmoms and Infamil, you'll get samples and coupons in the mail just before or after you deliver, too.
