Hello ladies!
I will be traveling to Minneapolis for three days in late April for work, and I'm considering having DH and DD (who will be ~10.5 months) accompany me. DD is still BFing - and plus, I'd just miss her! But that would leave DH with a baby in a hotel room all day, so I'm trying to find out if there are any baby-friendly activities within walking distance of the hotel. I will be at The Depot downtown. I can see from their website that they have a water park and skating rink, but it looks like they are only open weekends (and we'd be there weekdays). It also looks like the hotel is near the river - is there a walking trail? Any suggestions on where he could go would be much appreciated! I was in Minneapolis a few years ago and thought it was lovely, but that was all pre-baby, so I have no idea what options there are.
TIA!
Re: Help an OR Bumpie!
from downtown your husband and baby girl could take the light rail train to the mall of america-underwater adventure world. the sky way system is nice to walk and nicollet (sp) mall area is nice for walking/shopping etc.
i don't venture downtown often-if at all so this is just by memory. you could try to contact the hotel and see what they have for information?
Depending on what week days you are here, Mall of America has toddler Tuesdays. Another idea is the Minneapolis public library, which would be a couple blocks from there. They might have a story time.
These are great suggestions!
It hadn't occurred to me to ask the hotel. Duh!
I love the idea of Toddler Tuesday at Mall of America and going to the public library. DH would enjoy taking her to the Bell Museum and Art Museum. He loves art, and she loves people-watching. It's good to know that it's a nice walk along the riverfront, too. I'll look up the indoor playground; that would be perfect, but I'm not sure how far he'll be able to travel.
Thanks so much!
