Two Under 2

Need help re: double stroller!

Having a really hard time deciding on what to get...was looking at joovy ergo but it is just too expensive and I would like DD to have a more comfy seat... some of the baby trend sit and stands I don't like how the carseat in the front vs. back by me... and the contours is too big and bulky... not sure about the graco ones - have heard they are heavy and bulky too... I like the idea of a double jogger but need one that accepts a carseat and also is not too wide and bulky that it won't fit anywhere...

please help...I would like to stay under $300. Also, I have a chicco carseat from DD so have pretty much realized nothing is compatible with it and will need to buy a new infant seat... LAME, but oh well I guess...

Thanks!!

  • Chicco is coming out with a double stroller compatible with their carseats in April.  I would be interested, but I am due any day now and didn't want to wait to only realize it's something I didn't like.  Here is the link:

I have heard it's going to be priced right around $300

  • Pretty sure most things have adapters for the Chicco seat now. And, have you checked CL? It's an easy way to stay under budget. I got a used but in nice condition phil and ted's for only $150.

  • The Baby Trend's have 3 options for purchase, the regular sit and stand where your baby rides in the front and toddler can stand on back.  The sit and stand plus which has baby in front and toddler with a full seat or a bench seat or standing in back.  And the sit and stand plus double which allows you to put your infant in front or back with the two full seats or remove the back seat to convert to the sit and stand.

I assume what you wanted was to have your infant seat at the back closer to you and the last option allows you to do that, you have to read the descriptions carefully to make sure you're looking at the correct one.  You can check them all out at babytrends website.  The sit and stand plus double runs about $170 I think.

  • I got a Combi Twin off of Craigslist for $70 in excellent condition and LOVE it.  It weighs only 21 lbs, fits easily through doorways and folds compactly.  The only cons are no parent cupholder(but 3 for the kids) and useless storage baskets(which are useless on most umbrella strollers anyway).  I don't know if its compatible with your Chicco carseat, but its worth looking into anyway...we didn't use our infant seat for long with DS #1.
