I just came across this on the 3-6 board and wanted to post it for the pregnant ladies. OP's child almost suffocated in the Graco PnP. It looks like there have been multiple posts about this and there are links in this one to a previous post with pictures. My PnP folds over in the middle like this one does.

I'm so freaked out right now.
Re: From 3-6 (PnP Related)
Thank you for sharing. We haven't registered yet but I will definitely be looking for the depressions in the PnPs.
The model I have is different than the OP's. I bought the cheapest Graco PnP I could find, so I assumed mine did this because it was cheaper quality. I really didn't think about it being hazardous because it was so obvious after about a month. I just assumed Graco knew it folded and it wasn't an issue. I've definitely learned a lesson.
I'm not trying to play devil's advocate here, but after reading the OP's story about what happened to her DC, I wonder if they overreacted?
I'm not saying her son didn't almost suffocate, but you know how children breathe deeply when they are asleep. Maybe her son was startled when his father picked him up, which is why he took a gasp?
I don't know, I guess the fact that the girl and her husband take shifts to stay awake and watch their son throughout the night (before this event ever happened) when he is 5.5 months old sounds a little nuts to me. It makes me wonder if this bumpie would naturally overreact to the situation. The indentation on the mattress didn't look like something that would suffocate a child. (And it looks like something I've seen on every other PNP.) Just my two cents.

I have to agree with Lydia here... the woman sounds a little BSC if you ask me. And at 5 months old - I would be worried of having a baby in a BASSINET at all. The PNP Bassinet is like 8" high. Avery was sitting up at 5-6 months old. Just not safe period.
And her husband stays up all night to listen to him breathe??? um...that is insane. I understand if they want to having him room in - but that is what co-sleepers are for.
