Pregnant after a Loss

Baby is growing slow

just cam back from mu U/S with IVF.

I was supposed to check out today and start seeing a reg. OB but they didn't let me check out, as baby is growing too slow.

My Dr. never checks the HB, he just said it was strong and fast.

I do know exactly my conceiving date, as I am a Flight attendant and I have only been home very little in Jan.

So as of "my" date, we should be today 8w5d and so far the last times we only measured 2 days behind. Today we measured 6 days behind.

The DR did not seem too concerned but then again I don't know if they are trying to spare me?? Why wouldn't they check me out if there was nothing to worry about?

They are also concerned about my weightloss and gave me all kinds of stuff for my nausea. What do you think? baby growing too slow?

Re: Baby is growing slow

  • I think an u/s can be off by 4 or 5 days, so it is possible that lo is still growing just fine.  I'd assume your doc just wants to monitor everything to make sure all is well.  At least you'll get to see lo more often.  I'm surprised they are concerned about the weight loss though.  It is pretty common to lose weight in 1st tri - I know I have.

  • It's hard to say at this point. When will they do another u/s? My baby was 3 days behind last week. My ticker still says 9wk1 day but as far as growth it's more like 8wk4days. OB didn't make a big deal about it at all and told me to come back at 12 weeks. Having a lot of symptoms is good! I would be hopeful, as I am with my own baby... they can have a little growth spurt and be back in business!
  • I don't know the answers, but {{hugs}}.
