That sucks. I got a speeding ticket but was able to pay extra to keep it from going on my record if I didn't get another moving violation within a year. Saved me a lot of money on car insurance!
Well, I was driving in NY state, I live in PA and the officer told me that he would recommend pleading innocent and getting a reduction because they usually give them to people with clean records... a.k.a me. Sooo... I will see what happens in the next couple of weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
are you able to plead not guilty at traffic court?
You know how often that works?
About as often as I get pregnant.
depends where you live. dh is a police officer and he says it works 9 times out of 10. guess you have to move here!
My DH too...there are some types of tickets that he hesitates to even give because he knows they will fight it, he'll have to go to court, and it will get tossed out anyhow.

Yes, and I plan on it. I really thought that the speed limit was 40, and it was only 30. YIKES! 48 in a 30... not good.

I hired an attorney for my last one.
I got a $150.00 break of what the ticket would have cost me. The attorney got it dismissed.
It was only the 2nd ticket I've ever gotten in my life. I didn't want to deal with having it reported to my insurance agency.
And it wasn't even that bad, I was driving 75 mph in a 60 mph highway zone. The guy in front of me passed me, probably doing 80.

I did with my last ticket and got it down to $25 bucks!
Yeah, that doesn't work here either. If you get a speeding ticket - you're guilty.
