Well I can tell you what it wouldn't be! When I was wheeled into the OR at 3:00 a.m. after 3/12 hours of pushing "Love Shack" was playing on the radio, what a memory! I'd have to think about what it would be

Maybe "Lullaby" by the Dixie Chicks. It's one of my favorites to sing to Eve at night. Or perhaps I would start with "Sweet Baby James" and sing my way through the entire album. Or maybe a little Indigo Girls. Really, I love to sing so anything that would help to put me into a good mood would work.
I would be singing "Ball and Chain" by Social Distortion especially the chorus. LOL!
"Take away, take away
Take away this ball and chain Well I'm lonely and I'm tired And I can't take any more pain Take away, take away Never to return again Take away, take away Take away
Take away this ball and chain"

Re: Poll: Singing through labor?
br
Hahaha, Libby, you crack me up. I would suggest Laid to Rest by Lamb of God for a good F-bombin' metal song.

Great question!
I think I'd pick "Evermore" by Alison Krauss. The chorus:
"Evermore I will love you, evermore I will stay
ever right here beside you, never so far away,
And though I know sometimes you'll go to find your way alone...
Evermore I will love you, you are ever my own."
Thanks, Kel, now I'm crying!
I definitely wasn't singing through my labors, more screaming I would say, LOL.
Not sure what song I would sing but, I just wanted to share this clip of a women singing through labor. It is beautiful!!!!
LOL on the Love Shack, L!
When Alex was born the anesthesiologist was bumping some Atlantic Starr
"I will love you so, for aaaaaaalways..."
Not a bad song to be born to!
I will second that motion. LoG is on heavy rotation in DH's mix. Never played when little impressionable ears are present though.
Love it, that is one of my favourite videos. Though if I was singing through labor it wouldn't be anywhere nearly as beautiful.

Mine would probably be a song that my Mom sings to Mason.
For You Blue - Beatles
"Because you're sweet and lovely girl, I love you
Because you're sweet and lovely girl, it's true
I love you more than ever girl, I do"
Of course for Mason we leave out the Girl. I suppose we could change it to Boy, but we just leave it out.
It's my favorite too. Yeah I would definitely not look that good or sound that good either., LOL.
i know this is a beutiful thing, but all ican think of is my 5 year old while she is pooping.
ABCCCCCCCCDEFGHHHHHHHHHIJKLMNOOOOOOOOPQURSTVVVVVVVVVVXYZ.

LOL, I guess if had delivered vaginally that would have been my first thought too.
Shortly after Riley was born I sang him the same lulaby I always sing
"there is an island way out in the sea, where the babies all grow on trees.." He still gets that song before bed each night.
This comment wins.

I'd sing something by Sparklehorse. Either Gold Day or Hundreds of Sparrows.LOL! I can never listen to that song the same way again after experiencing it for myself.
