Did you babyproof your lazy susan cabinet?

Just thought of another thing the new house has that we don't....a lazy susan type corner cabinet.  I checked a few websites and don't see any baby-proofing locks for this type of cabinet.  Do you have one?  Is it locked at all?  We only locked a couple cabinets here, so I'm wondering if this will just be one of the "Gavin-safe" cabinets in our new home....

Re: Did you babyproof your lazy susan cabinet?

  • We are going to because I watched my nephew take a pretty good fall into my mom's lazy susan when he was learning how to walk.  He fell into it, and the side of it jammed into his back and lodged him in there.  It was funny because he didn't cry he just looked at my sister and I like "WTH!  Get me out here!"

  • I haven't been able to find a baby proof for the lazy suzie, I tried several different products and nothing worked.  Finally I just bought a round latch and installed it so it was hard to open.  I haven't installed one yet in this house (we moved last summer).  This house is much newer and I don't know if I want to put holes in the cabinet fronts.  We will see what we need to do when Bri starts getting into the kitchen.
  • Yes, we did. We have 2 lazy susan cabinets in our kitchen.  We don't keep anything breakable or harmful in either, but were getting tired of him emptying the tupperware from one and the pots and pans from the other when he was in the kitchen with us.  We have some locks from Safety 1st that we picked up at target (sorry, couldn't find a link online).  They attached by adhesive and thus far he hasn't been able to yank them off- and believe me, he's tried.

    Where did you find it?

  • We have Tot Locks on our cabinets, but I always forget that we dont have a typical lazy susan- ours has a door that opens and then the insides spin separate from the door (its from IKEA).

Here are the locks though, maybe they would work? We got them at BRU:
