Here's mine - I know it really is just because I am overdue and grouchy more so now than ever before ,but I want to "throat punch" these women who say its now officially their turn or to send them labor dust and they are not even at 40 weeks yet. I know we are all anxious to meet our little one's ,but no I will not send you labor dust because I am keeping it all to myself! Might even start stealing other people's pretty soon!  (Of course if they have a legitimate medical reason and they really do need to deliver early I understand)

I say steal, hoard and cultivate labor dust if you have to!

And here's some just from me!

Yea, I hate it when people tell me that once i have the babyi won't wanna do anything but stay home with him. Sorry nope. As much as I know i will love LO, i will still be so ready to have a night of "me time". I mean LO and I have cohabitated my body long enough. I have spent nine straight months without a single moment alone! So yes, when he is born about two weeks later I will be going out to a nice dinner and to have a couple glasses of wine and maybe a spin on the dance floor while LO bonds with grndma for the night!

I hate that too.  DH and I have a pact that we will have Saturday date nights at least every other week, and in time every week, period.  My cousin did that successfully and attributes her happy marriage to it - not to mention, her kids are used to the routine and fine being left with the sitter.  I have co-workers who say "I'll see" and never want to go out.  I'm pretty sure - no.  I am not that person, I need a relationship with my husband outside the kids too.

I agree!  My parents were married for 22 years (until my dad passed), and they were the happiest, most loving and stable people I knew.  Their trick?  A reliable babysitter for me and my sister!  DH and I are 100% going to make time for just us, even if all we can do is drop LO off to go to Target together.

  • I hate all the standard answers people give to certain topics not even bothering to read what the OP is saying and if they apply.

    For example:

Baby shower: you are ungratefull and spoiled (thought she just said she is grateful and will be happy no matter what)

Gender dissapoinment that lasted a nano second: you should be happy that your baby is healthy (when the OP just stated that she is now thrilled)

breast feeding: bf is what is right for the baby (she said she would try becasuse she feels is right for her baby)

Seriously people READ before you jump to the OP's throat.

I don't really post much on 3rd tri, but here it goes:

There is a "popular" bumpie who is a MASSIVE know-it-all and whenever I see a post of hers it's irks the crap out of me.  Even her siggy pic makes me snarl...  and I can't, for the life of me, understand why she never gets called out on her I-know-everything-about-pregnancy attitude.

This! I also find it hilarious that there are so many cliques on the boards. Its like highschool girls trying to belong to certain groups. Adult women begging to belong to a group is repulsive. Anonymity makes some people feel like they can act a damn fool knowing full well they would not dare be as bold in person.

I agree with this!  Sometimes it seems like the bump is an extension of a high school popularity contest.  It's funny and sad at the same time.

  • bit late in the posting game, but I can't resist:

Nursery: I really really dislike baby names above cribs... I think it looks dorky and lame

Also, can't stand the dear part of the acronyms DH, DD, DS. I don't use it, but just reading it sometimes (if the mood is right), it starts to grate on my nerves.

Don't know which "popular bumpie" PP was referring to, but I have a feeling who it is and agree... and I am sure the more I post on here the more I open the irk door to others.

Miss W - I'm not not due for 5-6 more weeks now, I'd like to lend you labor dust. Just remember me when I am where you are :)

I think anyone who sarcastically says "Good luck with that" in response to someone wanting a med free birth, cloth diapering, making their own baby food, etc should be crotch punched. I also think mothers who say "Just wait, you'll see" and think that proves unequivically that they are right should be crotch punched.

    (better than throat punched, right?)

YES YES YES!  Another line warranting the same response = "Yeah, we'll see how long that lasts."  Piss off, Debbie Downer!

I AGREE too! Some of them try so hard, its pathetic. They`re trying to compensate for their lack of social status in highschool or something.

  • I think I know who that bumpie is.  And if it is who I'm thinking, I most definitely agree.

I am the opposite....I think some women here have induction and c-section crazed docs and I really can not stand when women just hang on EVERY word their doctor says without even questioning why or looking into things further themselves.

Seriously doctors get comfortable doing things a certain way, some have old-fashioned and out of date practices and opinions and people need to wake up.

Make YOUR birth just that! YOURS. Listen to your gut instincts or intuition and research before going along! Some doctors actually make bad calls and do things out of convenience....they are people and not a GOD!

Not sure if it is an Unpopular opinion or not.  But watched that Radical Parenting on TLC last night and think that Unschoooling is the biggest crock of crap EVER!   No one that agrees with that will be able to convince me otherwise.  I mean if you want to Homeschool fine, but children should be taught and not just "learn through life".  In 20 years I would really like to know what jobs those kids have!

    Yes

  • I think 3D u/s pics are creepy and have never seen one where I thought the baby looked good. I think most people's babies look strange, squashedand lumpy in these pictures. Sometimes I think they look gross, actually, like a dead baby. I think it's funny when people talk about their great 3D u/s experience and their siggy picture of it looks so creepy. DH and I decided to save our money and just see what LO looks like when he arrives.

I don't think we have opposite opinions, they are different extremes and they are both bad.

My doc would have had diagnosed my with pre-e and on meds a long time ago, but I decided I'd be proactive, borrowed my mom's BP measuring thingie (I feel like such a grown up) and started to monitor my BP, as I was sure my high readings were out of stress to be at the doc, and sure enough they were and my BP was fine. I have kept him informed about it on every appointment.

I'm just saying, find a physician you can REALLY trust and be proactive with your health. If you think your doc is csection crazed you need another one...

What if you are all thinking of different bumpies?  haha Stick out tongue

LOL, we all totally are! There are probably like 4 or 5 that collectively we are all thinking of, hehe! That being said, I am thinking of at least one (cant even remember her bump name, only her siggy pic), who has INFURIATED in several posts to the point where I have flamed her so bad that she is likely STILL trying to get the char layer off her skin! I am of the opinion that it doesnt matter if you have done this 50 times, you are not me, know nothing about my family dynamic, body or personality, and should keep your effing opinions to yourself and speak when spoken to, lol!

And yes, she is one of those bumpies who constantly tells us newbies "just you wait" and deserves a crotch punch, throat punch AND kidney punch! (Sorry if that makes me an online bully, but I feel that a little figurative bodily harm makes us ALL feel better, lol).

Also, to several PP, I agree that its utterly INSANE to spend that much on a baby outfit. I am a total spoiled brand name whore, and even I think its unreasonable to spend that much on something LO will outgrow in a month! When my LO gets older I am sure I will turn her into a handbag/shoe/designer jeans whore, but I think its prudent to wait till her feet stop growing before I get her Tory Burch flats, lol!

  • I hate how women act like they don't have a brain and need to be told every single little thing. No one can think for themselves anymore and it's annoying. One day some man who calls himself an expert will write "A Blueprint to Life: From Birth to Death" and everyone will be so relieved that they no longer have to think, just open the book.

That totally wouldn't shock me :p

I'll say - mucus plugs posts are so unnecessary, unless losing them involved a highly amusing story (like that poor girl whose water broke on her DOG).  Only because they started back up this week - it was nice the previous week when people didn't post then, probably because so many people flamed about them in this post lol.

I have to agree with you there. What drives me bonkers are the ladies that come on here and say "I just had my appointment... (they tell a big story) then say what do you think this symptom means" (or some other dumb question)  YOU were JUST in front of your DOCTOR! Why do you not ask these questions while you are there?

  • I don't post much either but I'm in the mood to share my unpopular opinions...

    1. I hate people who come to my house and complain about the dog hair on my couch and furniture. My dog lives here, you don't, you know I have a dog, if you don't like it then don't come over. I vacuum my couch once a week, sorry I don't do it every day!

    2. I get irritated by women who are all uppity about having a natural birth. Especially ones who have never given birth. Every woman I know who says during their first pregnancy that they are going natural has ended up having an epidural and they say, "Ohhhh...you just don't understand how bad the pain is!" It's fine to say you want to go natural but no need to judge those who aren't. As my mom (who gave birth to four) says, "No one is going to hand you a medal for giving birth without drugs!"

    3. I know that some women do love being pregnant, but I am not one of them. I can't wait to meet my baby and love him already but I am not enjoying this. The nausea, the vomiting, the swelling, the constipation, always being tired and hungry. It's like having an incurable virus for nine months. I just want my body back to myself. If that makes me a horrible mother so be it.

    THANK YOU!...and I think I love you.

  • Late to post but here it goes:

I think it's dumb when people say they're waiting to name the baby because they want to make sure he/she looks like his/her name. All babies look like smushed face aliens when they are born. What name matches that? And in 2 weeks the baby looks completely different than at birth anyway so what difference does it make?

Woo-HOO!! ITA. There are tons of birth stories posted on here about "Failed Natural" - it'd be one thing if they were like, I'm going to try to go med-free but realize that sh*t happens... but, no, they've never felt it and they are all supremo about it... oi!

As far as the popular bumpie... I know I'm probably no.1 for being called snarky on a daily basis... but I am not popular, nor do I have a siggy pic BUT I know of at least one bumpie who never even had a kid and every just kisses her @SS... ugh. She is one who is totally clique-y, too... seriously?  And her siggy pic makes me wanna hurl everytime I see it...

There are just as many stories on here about "failed induction - c-section"
