Milk left out all day!!....

My husband picked up our three month old from his Mother's yesterday. She is not his usual sitter. He said that when he took the one bottle he didn't drink out of the cooler it wasn't even cool. I had four bottles of breast milk in the cooler. He drank three of them during the day. He started screaming thirty minutes after he was picked up at four. He screamed off and on and had gas until about 11:30. Would my milk being out all day cause this?

I won't get a confession if that is what happened.

I believe breastmilk is good for 10 hours or so at room temperature.

My LC said that BM can be left out for 8 hours at room temperature and not spoil.  It might have been what you ate that was in the BM that caused the gas... Any broccoli?  ;o)

It would be ok only if it was fresh. If its been frozen or in the fridge/cooler it is only good for an hour and warming up.

I talked to an LC after I posted this. That is what she told me. The milk came out of the fridge at 7:30 am!
