3rd Trimester

For those of you in your last month or so....exercise ?

I know I am not in my last month quite yet (well maybe, who knows) but am just wondering how things are going for you all?! What are you no longer doing? Yoga here (few times a week) and some walking. Oh and toddler chasing, well I wouldn't call it "chasing" anymore, more of a walk and "Stop and wait for me" kind of movement.

Re: For those of you in your last month or so....exercise ?

  • Just walking. I am doing about an hour most days. I doubt I could do much else if my life literally depended on it.

  • I still go to the gym a couple days per week and use the elliptical or walk on the treadmill.  I also do some light arm weights.  On other days I try to do a lot of walking or housecleaning to stay active.  I feel pretty good with 10 days left!
  • I just never really changed my activity with DS.  I've continued to run around with him, play catch, throw him up in the air etc.  I just can't roll around on the floor or anything.

I do a lot of walking and stairs at work and at home.

  • With DS, I walked daily on the treadmill up until the day he was born (5 rather slow miles that day -- I was not crazy, just trying to wear myself out so I could sleep that night -- and as it turns out, I spent it in labor). I also did body pump weights class until 36 weeks. We will see how it goes this time.
  • I still exercise everyday, but can't really run anymore.  (too much cramping and contractions).  I've been going to the gym 6 days per week and do the elliptical for 65-100 mins and stretching.  On Sundays I do a long hike/jog up on the trails. Not nearly as much exercise as before I was pregnant, but I've been trying to stay active enough so that it won't take me long to get back into shape post-baby.

  • You ladies really  are doing great, keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration to keep going. I enjoys my walks with DS#1 in the afternoon/evening because it helps me to sleep better at night, but the BH just about kill me by the time we are done.
  • Working out about 5 days per week here at week 37. One day of pre-natal yoga. Two - three days of run / walk intervals for about 3 miles. One - two days per week of 25 min on elliptical or arc trainer - then light weights for twenty - thirty minutes. I've expanded quite a bit and there is a lot of downward pressure just in the last week so the running may be coming to an end really quickly.
