So I am learning that...

anything you can do with one baby, you can do with two.  it may just take some more work!

i needed new running shoes BADLY and my running store is in the mall.  So, I wore both babies around the mall.  We had to stop and rest a few times (it was heavy), but I got my shoes and we had a really nice time.

I remember awhile ago Goldi said she made it a point to go out daily with her sons and I thought that she was crazy and that I would never be that brave.

anyway, i think if we can handle the mall, we can handle anything!

(i wont even talk about how many heads we turned...)

  • Good for you! You can be an inspiration to us all ;) It is very intimidating thinking of going out with more than one baby, but you're right, it can be done! Thanks for sharing, I think that is something I will try very soon (just want to wait till the weather's a bit better) I'll let you know how it goes.....
  • Good for you!!

I also find taking the girls out daily is such a sanity saver for me and my DDs--it gives them observation time and it's so dang cold here lately that it prevents us from having cabin fever. We had a fun outing today (or at least I'd like to think so!) at Target and Babies R Us in the DSNG (kudos to you for doing the double carrier style!!)

    I'm glad I inspired you :)

you CAN do just about everything with 2 (or 3 in my case) that you can do with one- you just have to figure out how to make it work.

There is one place I can't go with my boys (yet) b/c they don't allow strollers and I can't wear the 2 boys (they are too damn heavy!)... the children's museum near me... once they are all walking though, then we can go!

You go girl!  If I'm home with the girls, I always like to have an adventure for the day....doesn't have to be anything big, the library or the grocery store will do.  I'm only now getting brave enough to let them both out of the stroller in a public place (they both are walking, and not always in the same direction!)  I also managed to take them both into a not-terribly-stroller-friendly baby store today to get them some new shoes (I carried one in my arms and the other was in her carseat, but I did let them both wander around for a while too).

  • that's good to know. when did you first venture out with them or was this the first time?
  • you wore them!? you are my hero. i cant wear my boys (they are 18 lbs) so it's a stroller or we dont go. i started going out by myself around 3 mo old (i had help around until then). it's easy with the DSNG, im not looking forward to them outgrowing the infant seats which i feel is coming soon because they are so heavy.
  • That is awesome! I have been working on taking my twins out myself - this week we went to the pediatrician on our own, we went on a long walk, and today we're going out to run some errands. Thank goodness for the DSNG - I love how easy it is to take them around and I can use the bottom as my shopping cart! Gotta get out a few times a week or else I get cabin fever!
  • Good for you!

Sometimes we just have to do it and then you see that all though it is hard, you can do.

I am at the point now where I don't have any fears about going anywhere with the kids by myself.

My problem is that it is just so exhausting when I am done.

Sometimes I feel like I just need a nap once they are all in the car!

4 trips out (I have a 3 year old DD) and always more then 4 trips back!

But it is worth it - I am waiting for spring - because no matter what I have made myself a promise to take the kids to the part at least 4 times a week no matter what!

  • I think its great you got out with them.  I love taking the girls out and if I am by myself, so be it.  The hardest part is actually getting their coats and on and getting out the door.  But once we are out, its fine.  They are too heavy to wear, so as long as I can take the stroller, off we go.  People dont understand how I do it alone.  But all I can say is, I would rather take them out for a little than be stuck in my house.  You do what you have to.

  • way to go momma!  I love outings with my LOs...but I can't wear them both anymore...that would be 40 pounds of baby hanging on...but we go everywhere with a stroller...

the poster who went to the pedi alone is my hero...that is the one trip I am more than afraid to do myself with both of them....
