My sister taught her kids their phone number by making up a rhyme. When her youngest was 2, she could say it.
Ex:
214- Let's hit the door
8*5- Now I am alive
8*01- now let's have some fun
I always thought that was a cute, easy way of teaching a little one their phone number.
ETA: That's not her phone number. I just made it up and have no clue who it belongs to.
Re: S/O teaching phone number
Good tip.
Sam knows our address, but I've never tried teaching him our phone number. A rhyme would make it so much easier.
That isn't your sisters real phone number is it?
ETA: Nevermind, I see the "Ex"
LOL, No. I was just editing it to add that I have no clue who that number belongs to.
Knick Knack Paddywhack has a good rhythm for teaching phone numbers.
Ex: (This old man) 212 (he played one) 483 (he played knick knack on my thumb) 5(ive--you'd have to adjust for the extra syllable) 3(ee--again, to add the syllable) 7 6.
Etc.
I was just going to suggest this too. Cell phone numbers are probably more important than house phones -- for example, if you go to an amusement park and DC gets separated from you and the park authorities find DC and ask for contact info, knowing your cell number could help, whereas the home phone, not so much. Just a thought.
