Second time being sick since being born!

He has a virus...most likely caught from DH since he had a viral then bacterial upper respiratory infection that he is just now getting over. I have bronchitis....that is almost gone.

I can't help but feel a pang of guilt because I wonder if he would be sick again if I were able to breastfeed.

I am slightly thankful to know he is sick and this is not just some shift in personality in my little guy.

i learned this the hard way .... you will get sick more than you ever thought you could when a new baby arrives. as my mom told me last night when i was complaining about being sick AGAIN ! she smiled and told me that babies have some sort of super immunity and will get half the colds YOU get. they'll bring the germs in, get mom & dad sick, and they themselves will only catch something HALF the time.

don't beat yourself up thinking that by bf you would have spared yourself the colds, you wouldn't have. bf babies get colds too.

I'm sorry! I can tell you that my breastfed baby got sick A LOT. Got his first cold (in October) when he was 4 months old and still EBF. It lasted weeks (which is typical) and then 4 weeks later got a cold that lasted a month. And got sick every time he so much as shared air with his cousins. We are still BFing and he still gets sick fairly often (Roseola in September, croup in December, stomach bug from hell on Xmas).

Don't blame yourself. Kids get sick. It sucks. But it's not your fault.

You CAN NOT blame yourself for not bfing. My DS is EBF and has had a string of colds and an ear infection already. I joke to my DH that we got a lemon : )

Just know that you are doing great and that he will be back to his normal self soon!

I never breastfed Sarah and she has not been sick once, so don't blame yourself.

I'm sorry he's sicky Don't beat yourself up. My breastfed baby has been sick pretty much every other month starting in August. Her pedi said it's been a really crappy cold and flu season.

I hope all three of you fee better soon!
