Help needed: Rash going on 3 weeks

DS started developing a rash on his chest/legs the week of 2/8.  We went to the pediatrician on 2/17.  He stated it was probably related to a viral infection and sent us on our way.  Now two weeks after the doctor appointment, he still has the rash.  It seems to be spreading slightly to his arms and back.  I called the doctor and we have another appt today.

I am posting to see if anyone has had any similar experience and what the outcome was.  I do not want to go back to the doctor only to be sent home again without any answers.  So any information would be appreciated.  Thank you!!

Thank you.  I thought this as well... but I am not sure since it does not seem to bother him at all (i.e. he does not itch it ever).  Also, it is not on his face.  I am not 100% sure since I am not really educated on all of this but most of the information I have read on the lovely internet states that eczema is usually on the face/scalp.

My LO had a rash- it lasted for 4 days.  DH is a physician assistant and began treating it instantly.. it disappeared quick.  He used hydrocortisone and aquaphor on it 2x a day-- it went away.  We instantly stopped giving him things that he ate that day- and we are slowly introducing them again to see if it was a food allergy.  We never went to the ped- but LO is 100% better now.
