TTC After a Loss

Do we have a master list of fertility helpers?

I'm trying to plan what all we want to try and what I should ask my dr about.  Do we have a master list of suggesterd fertility helpers, such as pom, pineapple, etc?

There's gotta be pom vodka and pineapple vodka in there. And I haven't heard of a green tea vodka, but there is a sweet tea vodka (which is amazing, BTW)

Confession: I often use alcohol during FWP week because I'm a horny drunk and it helps when I'm not in the mood ;)

  • I actually drink Female Toner tea - 2 cups a day everyday. It has raspberry leaves & Strawberry leaves to improve your uterus lining. I'm not sure if it works, but I *think* it does. So maybe it's just psychosomatic...
AlternaTickers - Cool, free Web tickers
  • Here's a list I've put together.

    Thicken your uterine lining:

?         Vitex - 1,000 mg daily, it's supposed to be better than B6.  Combine Vitex with Red Raspberry for LPD.

    ?         Omega 3 Fish Oil ? 2,000-4,000 mg daily.

?         Red Raspberry - 1,000 mg daily.  Strengthens the uterine lining.  Combine RR with Vitex or B6 for LPD.

?         B6 ? 100 mg is a good amount, but no more than 200 mg daily.  Take it at the same time as your multi or prenatal vitamin.   It is used to lengthen the LP.  Combine with Red Raspberry.  If you don't like Vitex, try B6.

?         Progesterone - your dr can prescribe this.

?         Pomegranate juice ? helps build uterine lining, also helps men with sperm quality and mobility.  1 glass per day.

?         FertileCM ? supports a healthy uterine lining, among things

?         Accupunture ? helps improve blood flow to build a stronger uterine lining

?         Fertilaid ? this is available for both men and women, includes vitamins and supplements needed to conceive.  Includes Vitex.

?         Fertilitea ? Includes ingredients needed to promote fertility, includes Vitex.

?         Flaxseed oil - Take 1 tbsp daily (from O to AF) or 2,000 mg per day. Flax Seeds are rich in omega-3 Essential fatty Acids ?EFA? magnesium, potassium and fiber to continue steady level of EFA (EFO is EFA) throughout cycle.. Is a source of essential fatty acids.

?         Baby Asprin ? take only one (1) per day. aka Children?s Aspirin ? 81 mg.  Start at any time of cycle. Aspirin is known to suppress natural killer cells in the uterus, so it is used for those with immune problems. Because Aspirin thins your blood, it also improves blood flow to the ovaries, improving follicle development, and improves blood flow to the uterus, improving the quality of the uterine lining. This increases the odds that implantation will be successful. Also, during pregnancy, it will help prevent miscarriage in those prone to blood clots. Having blood clots form in the placenta and/or umbilical cord is the cause of many of these pg losses.

    ?         Vitamin E ? increases progesterone.  150iu per day.

    Increase CM:

?         Green Tea ? helps increase CM.  1 cup per day.  However, green tea may decrease the efficiency of folic acid, so take it 12 hours opposite your prenatal

?         Robitussin/Mucinex (guaifenesin as active ingredient) ? helps increase CM.  2 tsp 3-4 /day, basically the max listed on the bottle. Take from CD5 to O; alternately start 5 days before you expect to O. Make sure only ingredient is guaifenesin.

?         Evening Primrose Oil ? helps increase CM.  The dose is 3000 mg once daily.  Discontinue EPO when your thermal shift occurs as it can cause uterine contraction which may hinder implantation of the embryo in the uterus. It can be found at most health food stores, grocery stores.

?         Grapefruit juice ? helps increase CM.  1 glass per day.  Most women here see results within a few days or a week.

?         Royal Jelly ? helps increase CM & Uterine lining.  Avail at Walmart in pill form, 1-3 pills per day.   MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT ALLERGIC TO BEES.  It takes a while for it to get in your system, so don?t expect results in 1 cycle.

    Implantation:

?         Pineapple core ? helps with implantation.  Cut up core in to five chunks and eat 1 piece of core on days 1-5 following ovulation (can also make pineapple core smoothie).

    For the DH:

?         Folic acid ? improve sperm quality.

    • Arginine ? take 4 grams daily. Needed to produce sperm and improve motility. If the sperm count is below 10 million per ml, arginine probably will not provide any benefit.
    • Coenzyme Q10 ? take 10 mg daily. Increases sperm count and motility.
    • L-carnitine ? take 3-4 grams daily. Required for normal sperm function.
    • Selenium ? take 200 mcg daily. Improves sperm motility.
    • Vitamin B-12 ? take 1000 mcg daily. A B-12 deficiency reduces sperm motility and sperm count. Even if no deficiency exists, B-12 supplementation may help men with a sperm count of less than 20 million per milliliter or a motility rate of less than 50%
    • Vitamin E ? take 400 IUs 2 times daily. Is an antioxidant and improves sperms' ability to impregnate.
    • Zinc ? take 30 mg 2 times daily. Required for a healthy male reproductive system and sperm production.
    • Saw Palmetto ? 1000mg.  Increases sperm count and strengthens entire male reproductive system.

  • SweetieD21, your list is awesome, thanks so much.  My throat feels like it's closing at the though of swallowing all of that though.

lol.  Pick and choose, depending on what issues you and DH have.  My DH has slightly low motility, so he takes FertilAid, which is a good combo of most of those vitamins for men, and 1000mg of vitamin C.  I take mucinex to increase cm (I tried grapefruit juice, robitussin, and green tea...green tea didn't really work and I hate the taste of grapefruit juice and robitussin) and we use preseed.  I also take Vitamin E and a super B complex vitamin, to increase my progesterone/uterine lining.  Everyone's different, so some things might work better for you, than for other people.  Good luck!

I'm completely convinced this is how I got KU the first time and how I'll probably end up KU next time
