Oh man do I feel sick to my stomach. Blech. Anyone else ever have this problem? The nurse at my RE's office said that the they get frequent complaints about nausea when people are taking the Doxycycline, but I have to stay on it since I did my SHG yesterday. I sure hope it gets better soon. ![]()

Re: Nausea with Doxycycline
yeah - Doxy sucks like that.
Make sure you are taking it with food, it's even worse on an empty stomach.
4 Fresh IVF cycles + 1 FET where embies didn't survive the thaw = 2 perfect little men!
sFET 11/9/11 - Beta 11/18 BFP!
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
I'm so happy you posted this and everyone said to eat with it. I probably wouldn't have ate with it. I'm going to pick up my pills today I need to start them tomorrow night.
It was horrible for me last month on my first day of it. A few tips:
-Eat with a small meal
-Avoid dairy right around taking the medicine
-Don't have any vitamins or supplements within 4 hours
-Don't lay down for 30 minutes afterward
The remaining days were better (but not perfect) after doing those things.
My RE had me take Doxy prior to my HSG. The first couple of days I was fine because I took it with breakfast and dinner. The instructions for the HSG said to eat a light snack, so all I had was a banana (and the doxy).
On my way to the RE's office, I suddenly felt very nauseated. I rolled down the window, but it didn't help. I was on a road where I couldn't pull over. All of the sudden, I put my hand up to my mouth, and projectile vomited ALL OVER THE CAR. I'm talking hitting the roof, dash, windshield, etc.
Luckily I was wearing a coat, so I just had to clean off my pants when I went into the bathroom in the office. My car was not much fun to clean, though. AND, I had just picked up said coat from the dry cleaners the day before!
Moral of this story...def. take it with plenty of food!
