3rd Trimester

19 Kids and Counting...

I'm watching it (idk if it's the most recent, I'm catching up on my DVR), and their 39 day old baby is the same size as my inside baby.  I can't believe how scary their situation is, but also how blessed they are and how well little Josie is doing and growing.

And, she's 39 days old and her parents haven't been allowed to hold her yet!  I can't even imagine...

  • Yes, this family has 19 kids (all to the same 2 parents) and their latest was a micro-preemie.  I don't remember exactly how early, but she was born in December, and wasn't due until March 18th or something like that.  She's 39 days old and just barely 2 1/2 lbs.

  • It's on TLC if you're interested, and I'm sure you could look on their website.

I can't help but think there is something "not quite right" about someone being pg that many times.? ?Whether it's being able to or wanting to.? how old is the mom now?? And jeez, do they plan to stop?
  • They've said they'll keep going as long as God allows them.  If I were them I would be reconsidering, especially since this last baby was so early.  They have a few sets of twins, so it hasn't been 19 separate pregnancies, but still, it's pretty intense.

I'd NEVER consider having that many, but they're a good family.  No debt, all their kids are home schooled, they help their community a lot, etc.  Good examples, even if they're a very extreme example.

  • I am going to look that up on TLC. I am usually watching something legal or forensic related but this sounds disturning in an entirely different way,

  • She was born at 25 weeks. In next weeks episode Michelle finally gets to hold her.

  • I was thinking the same thing during a previous episode - and I make tiny babies. It's heartbreaking to see her so tiny in the NICU. It makes me so sad for any parents who have to deal with a preemie, much less a micro-preemie.
