Wondering your thoughts on two things. First, did you hear about the Congressman (think) in Ga who is blocking the extension of unemployment benefits? I can see his point about needing to find other ways to pay for it but needing to "teach people a lesson" at the expense of them being unable to subsist ... ?Second, our district's Congressman jumped ship and went to the Republican side. He's doing the poliician thing and backpedaling on his agendas. Anyway, his offices sent out mailers using taxpayer money. I was hot when I saw that and looks like the news here has caught wind of it. Why are you using taxpayer money to send out mailers instead of using it to improve things in the district?
Re: Eclaires
I think the first part you're referring to is Bunning of KY, maybe? He's crazy. I say that in the nicest way possible, and I understood his point to an extent, but he's been losing it for years and is retiring at the end of the year. Back during his last election, I saw some of his debates (since I lived in the area or was there a lot visiting my parents) and he seemed utterly out of it. He still won (was the incumbent, so no real surprise) but it was a pretty close race. Anyway... he kind of sucks. He also played a big role in the stupid steroid hearings for MLB (he's a former pro baseball player), so he was on my sh!t list for that crap, too.
My all time favorite thing about politicians is how they use their ability to send out free mailers on the taxpayers dime. It's such utter BS. Too funny your congressman jumped ship. That's another thing that I find funny. Specter (former R from PA) switched Dem not to long ago and I hope he loses his reelection bid this year. Dillhole.
