Toddlers: 24 Months+

Need ideas...

My toddler gets jealous a lot of when I play with her sister. I need some distracting ideas for things for her to do so I can give her sister some much needed attention...Like to have a bin of things ready so I can hand her something to do that she'll be excited about and won't be jealous.

  • The biggest thing that I've noticed helps is to include Harmon when I am playing with the twins.  If I do that it gives Harmon confidence.  It really is neat and he often than goes off to play with his own toys.

  • My BFF has a 9 mo old and my DD gets jealous when I play with her. What helps the best is to ask DD to help me show the baby how to play. DD feels very mature and gets invested in the process when the baby figures out how to play with certain things.

  • I do BOTH of those things posted above....I pull out blocks or a puzzle something we can all do...I give #2 her own puzzle for her to 'try' and #1 and I do a real one a few feet away...this way were all there on the floor engaged.  OR I put #1 in her high chair with something she can rarely have like playdoh or fingerpaint, watercolors, etc.
