The thing about these (very, very thoughtful!) gifts is that she probably won't feel comfortable calling you to say "clean my house today -- I have a coupon." For that reason, I'm not a fan of these types of gifts. I would suggest thinking of some other thoughtful gesture, and then, if you are so inclined, just do these things for your friend without the whole coupon booklet. But, maybe other people like them... I could be the minority here. I just can't fathom calling up to cash in on one of these, so it seems silly to me...
I have noticed that a lot of my friends who have kids say they feel like they are left out of things or that their friends don't call them often. Maybe a coupon for lending an ear whenever she needs it? Or a coupon for joining her to take the baby to a park? Something where you are together and can talk/hang out together and with the baby.

I feel the same way. Get her a gift certificate for a massage or a cleaning lady or something.

Ditto this. I would actually get a gc for a cleaning service, massage, mani/pedi, or to a restaurant.

i completely understand this...and i agree, this book is more really "for fun"...i'm throwing the shower, and also have bought her "real" gifts..i really do hope she cashes them in...i don't plan on putting in a "clean my house" one, though, cause there is no way in heck i'm cleaning her house but for dinner drop off, i'm totally down for that, and hope she is too.
