Hi ladies!
I work for a company that has no actual maternity leave policy, so we're kind of going to play it by ear (I let the boss know about the pregnancy last week). But I was wondering how FMLA and STD works in NJ for maternity leave?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Re: Maternity Leave Question
Hi...I used the FMLA back in November and it was pretty simple...you just have to let your employer know about when you are planning to do your leave. Then you fill out your portion, have your employer fill out theirs....and then send it in to the state. They will let you know if you qualify...to qualify you must have worked at what they consider "base salary weeks" meaning you made at least $145 or more per week to qualify...so in my case with my fulltime teaching job I qualified but with my part-time job I wouldn't have...
