What doctor do you call for PPD?

I've been thinking for a few weeks now that I might have it and with DH going to be out of the country for 3 weeks in Brazil my fears have become worse and worse....do I call my midwife or regular doctor?

You can call either - I called my OB and she referred me to a therapist.

I would call whomever you feel more comfortable with.  I tried talking to my PCP about it, and she blew me off.  I talked to my OB, and she was wonderful!  I'm really glad that I talked to her!!

Agreed. I saw my midwife who gave me a prescription and the name of a therapist. She also talked with me and let me cry with her for about an hour. So I would suggest whoever you feel closer to. But definitely call one of them!

I talked to my OB about it at a follow up appointment.  She was so helpful.  I don't like my regular doc so I wouldn't go to him for anything related to being a woman.
