she hates the breast?!

I'm feeling soo frustrated- LO will take my BM fine from a bottle, but when I put her on the breast, she will suck for about 30 seconds and then scream. She does even when its only been 2 hours since her last feeding, so its not like I'm over-full. She'll go back on but will continue this suck-scream thing over and over. She will only eat for about 4 minutes and then is uncomfortable, squirmy and spits up a lot. I'm thinking I must have a too powerful let down? I tried pumping a little before feeding yesterday, and it helped a little but still the same overall behavior. I've tried to do the side-lying position, because I heard that helps, but can't seem to figure that one out. Anyone else experience this? What did you do to help the situation? If I do pump some ahead of time, how much should I pump? Thanks for any advice, she and I are both pretty frustrated! :)

it's hard not to get frustrated but she may be picking that up from you too.  Try to remain calm and relaxed.  Do you squirt when you let down?  I used to and at that point I'd grab a towel or burp cloth and let myself squirt into that and then return to breastfeeding.  It really seemed to help.  If that doesn't work try talking to a lactation specialist.  They are awesome.
