NBR-Jewelry cleaner?

What is a good homemade jewelry cleaner to use for my jewelry?  I spilled the real stuff and need some in the worst way.  Does anyone know of any household cleaner I could use as a good substitute?  Thanks!!!!

  • dont use any chemicals.dawn works great but will leave water marks on stones and the best thing to use to finish the cleaning is a dry steam but you have to go into a store to have that done. most clean jewelry for free. i work at helzberg (well worked before ds) and they do it for free. just hot water and a squirt of dawn and let it sit then scrub it a bit and rinse.

  • Customer Service at Tiffany's told me to make a paste out of baking soda and water and scrub with an old toothbrush.  Best FREE advice I've ever been given, it works wonders!!!

I also purchased one of their cleaning clothes for $15 that I use to clean all my silver.

  • White vinegar; scrub with a toothbrush. I'm always amazed at how good it makes my rings look.

I've also had luck with the baking soda paste method.

  • Toothpaste and an old tooth brush
  • Shaving cream and a baby toothbrush. I have also used toothpaste which was a trick my aunt taught me. The shaving cream is super easy because I just give my rings and necklace(s) a quick clean while I am in the shower.
