I don't often post on here, but I am an Austin mommy!
I'm horribly disappointed with these. I used the JCP at Southpark Meadows... and will not again. We're going to do a reshoot with our (much more expensive, and infinitely talented) photographer...
Too bad my sweet boy has to be the cautionary tale, and I hope that none of you will make the same mistake that I did.

Re: XP: Terrible experience w/ JCP Portraits
I sincerely don't mean to be snarky nor do I want to point out the obvious, but you did go to JCP... I'm not saying that they never produce anything of quality, but I just wouldn't go in expecting an awesome outcome. Although, I looked through them and didn't think that they were all bad. Sure a few were fuzzy, but there were definitely a few cute ones! I can't believe they did not give you a full refund. I would definitely go back and give them the announcements back and demand a refund. To be honest, that's the least they can do.
I know there are multiple photographers on here that would be cheaper than your wedding photog, albeit probably more than JCP, but a better quality photographer. LibbyAnn, Constance Elyse, Kristen Joy, and I know fjaril does photography as well but I do not have a website for her. Not to mention Life in Motion and Bloom. ALL of which are nesties!
ETA: FOUND IT! fjaril, aka PhotosbyBrandy.com/blog, it won't let me make it clicky sorry.
Look into a few more options before you settle on your wedding photog, especially if he/she is out of your price range. Good Luck!
I'm sorry
If you don't want to pay for a really good pro-photographer you could try Clique Portrait Studio in Lakeline. I've used them twice for Leo and once for Charlie, and I've been happy each time. I posted some of Charlie's 3 month pictures below if you want to take a look. Their prices are really good too
I posted this on the other link, but I'm going to post it here too for other audiences to see. I had quoted a poster who asked what kind of camera was used and was attributing the camera used to the pictures being out of focus.

First of all, your son is absolutely adorable! Love his little smile and even though it's completely out of focus, the shot of the three of you with him grinning at your DH is precious.
Second of all, the camera used has nothing to do with the out of focus shots, unless the camera itself is broken...and I highly doubt that is the case with these because there are a handful of in focus photos. The photographer does not know how to use his/her equipment and it's evident. Unfortunately, that's what you get when you go to a lot of chain photo places. They have very limited training and consistently produce very muddy black and whites and underexposed or overexposed images. Photoshop can fix some of those things, but no amount of photoshop can fix a blurry image.
A friend of mine posted an awesome article on her blog about what to look for in a professional photographer. I know everyone can't afford it, but if you can afford a custom photographer, these are some things you should be looking for:

Absofreakinglutely. I know there are good "cheap" chain places but I don't feel like playing roulette to find them. Not a good use of my time, money or my kids patience!
