I'm having this convo about my Baby B down below! I haven't tried but some say yes and some say no. SO its worth a try! I dont want to over do the tylenol either!
My experience is that orajel doesn't do diddly for DD. The ONLY thing that helps her is tylenol. I also worry about it giving it too often, and I don't know how often you're giving it, but if you're concerned maybe you could ask your pedi how often you can safely give it. I think Tylenol is pretty gentle as far as pain meds go, and since it seems to work for your LO it would probably make you feel better to ask your pedi so you can have peace of mind when you give it to her.
I think Motrin works better than Tylenol. I don't do oragel b/c it doesn't last long b/c of the saliva, plus if you use a lot, it can numb the back of throat, causing the gag reflex to be "numb" and if your LO was choking and had to cough up something, he/she wouldn't be able to (at least that's what my pedi says)

Brayden Richard Drew ~ December 20, 2010~7lbs 9oz, 20"
Tylenol does nothing for us. Grant now has 9 teeth - motrin + nighttime baby orajel does the trick.
Note: Orajel is not long lasting and you certainly don't want to over-use it - however, if your LO is tired then in combination with motrin and the nighttime aspect of the orajel it helps them fall into sleep easier.
We tried both. Orajel started hurting her tummy. I've also read that some tend to over medicate with it and it can cause numbing in the throat. That I'm not to keen on so we switched to Hyland's Teething Tablets. They worked really, really well!

I give Tylenol, and in the time it takes to kick in I put Orajel on his teeth to help right at the beginning. I've used only Orajel a few times and it only lasts about 40 minutes before he's screaming again.
We haven't tried the Orajel because I don't like the idea of it numbing his mouth so much. We use the Hyland's teething tablets and, on particularly bad days, Tylenol as well.
Motrin!! Love that stuff. Tylenol works too, but I don't think it lasts as long. Teething tablets are good if they are just a little fussy, but they don't work for us in full-on teething hell.
I have used Orajel a few times with good results, but I will only use a dot about half the size of a pea and rub it really well into his gums. And I don't put it on if he's about to go to sleep right away because I'm worried about him choking on the saliva - I will apply it about 30 mins. before bedtime.

Exactly this!
This. It happened to Grinsngiggles and her son Ryan. I won't use Oragel.
