c-section/cramps ?

I had a c-section and have felt great.. I was told the healing would be WAY worse then vag, but I couldn't imagine feeling better. BUT I get cramps, almost like period cramps. Is that normal? Or do I think I feel better then I am, and need to not do so much?

Re: c-section/cramps ?

  • You know, I felt fantastic after my csection too.  I was literally up the next day.  I was walking carefully but I was up and walking none the less. I was driving the day after coming home from the hospital.

I did have cramps and I'm still bleeding some.  Not enough for a pad but the tp is usually covered in blood after I potty.  My cervix remained steadfastly closed which is why I had to have a csection, doc said I would bleed longer than normal to get it all out.  The first 2 weeks I cramped pretty hard every time I breast fed.

  • are you on pain meds? cause i felt pretty great when the pain meds were in effect but if they wore off then i didnt want to move and all i did want to do is sleep. but im pretty sure the cramping your feeling is your uterus contracting back to normal size. i had cramping so i think its normal.

I know everyone is different, but I hope you feel as I do. You will have nothing to worry about!!!

I was scared of the fist cut. When hubby came in the room, we talked for a few, he asked how I was doing. I said, "Just worried for that first cut.." he said, "yeah...that was a long time ago!" I actually felt a couple time like someone was tickling my ribs! Then after the drugs wore off, there was a little pain, but really... NOT BAD. Had my c-section at 9:50am, was up walking around by 4pm... The worst part was HORRIABLE constipation a few days later. TAKE STOOL SOFTENER!!! And OFTEN!

I feel very blessed and would do it again in a heart beat!
